Easy 3-Minute Hookup
The Universal SC-50 Audio
Subcarrier Receiver is very simple to install and hook up. Find the Subcarier
or Baseband OUT (sometimes called the Composite Video or Unclamped Video
Out) on the rear of your satellite receiver or IRD. Run a cable from the
receiver to the Subcarrier or Baseband IN on the back of the SC-50. Run
another cable from the SC-50's LINE OUT to the AUX IN on your Hi-Fi System.
If you are using a stereo, simply use a "Y" connector to the stereo's Left
and Right IN connectors.
More About Subcarriers and FM(2) (FM Squared)
Audio subcarriers are the
additional signals attached to the main satellite video carrier, but are
not the video program audio. These signals are located above the video
from 5.0 MHz to 9.0 MHz typically. Hundreds of audio services are available.
Music, news, talk shows and sports are all offered by this audio subcarrier
group.
FM(2) (FM Squared), or "audio
subcarriers below video," is another group of subcariers located from 100
KHz to 5 MHz, the video section of the standard video signal. FM(2) audio
subcarriers on these "non-video" transponders are too low in frequency
to be tuned by the standard IRD or stereo processor. FM(2) audio subcarriers
also provide numerous music, news, talk and sports services. All of these
services are FREE!

Why Do I Need The Versatile SC-50 Receiver? ...To Receive 400 More Audio Channels!
Your satellite receiver
will receive some of the standard audio subcarriers, mainly 6.20 MHz and
6.80 MHz which carry the audio for your video. However if you want to receive
the many other audio channels, you must reprogram your receiver's audio
esction to receive them. Later, when you want to restore your video's audio,
you must reprogram the receiver over again. All of this is a time consuming
and often difficult procedure. In addition, many satellite receivers cannot
be tuned to any of the new audio subcarrier channels at all!
The Universal SC-50 ends
the hassle; you simply punch in your frequency numbers-3 seconds, that's
it! Better yet, store your favorite channels in the 50 section memory bank
for instant recall. Easily scroll through the channels with a touch of
the up or down button!
The SC-50 opens a new world
of audio for your satellite system bringing you the FM(2) audio channels
located from 100KHz to 5.0MHz (a lot of interesting channels here) and
the new channels in the 5.0MHz to 9.0MHz range.
